Why you need a water softener for your commercial dishwasher or glasswasher?

Not to worry Team Eco are here to help!

Most of the UK is a hard water area which leaves your ware washer susceptible to limescale build up. Over time this will damage components within your machine and can deteriorate the quality of wash results and, in the worst case, could even cause irreparable damage to your warewasher.

You do have the option to descale your machine but descaling only cleans certain parts of the unit, and certain places will be left; so not everything is descaled. Whilst components are covered in limescale, they will be strained, overworked and slowly damaged, which ultimately decreases your machines lifespan.

We highly recommend that you invest in a water softener; whether this is internal of external. Your ware washer will last longer, guarantee consistent wash results and will be protected from the problems caused by limescale build up.

There are different types of water softeners.

• Inbuilt – Is integral to your ware washer. Top up the salt when required and the machine will do the rest of the work
• External Manual – Sits next to your ware washer and has to be manually regenerated. New salt is added manually which can be a 20-30 minute process
• External Automatic – Sits next to your ware washer and automatically regenerates. This unit flushes out old salt and all you need to do is add new salt when required
