A recent report by employment group Manpower has reported that the new legislation to increase the minimum wage rate is causing ‘’shockwaves’’ for employers as they try to reconcile the increase in wages with challenging economic conditions.

The minimum wage increase is set for 1st April 2016, this will see the level go up from the current £6.50 per hour to £7.20 per hour for over 25’s. Experts are now saying that companies will try to bypass the legislation by employing younger workers, leading to possible discrimination and loss of employment for workers over the age of 25.
