With the ever increasing rise of social media and the importance of online presence restaurants have been given a new warning recently, guard against copyright infringement.<\/p>\n
The issue has been bought into the media spotlight recently by the unfortunate case of London based Vietnamese restaurant group Pho when it came to their attention that an Australian restaurant named \u2018Mama Pho\u2019 were using their copyrighted images on their twitter feed and passing the images off as their own dishes.<\/p>\n
Pho\u2019s head of marketing contacted the Melbourne based restaurant asking them to remove the images as they were subject to copyright, in response Mama Pho sent an extremely abusive twitter message and refused to remove the images. This prompted a barrage of criticism and negative comments on twitter that subsequently forced Mama Pho to remove the images.<\/p>\n
This should send a very clear message to restaurateurs, keep a close eye on your copyrighted content, and anyone daring to steal content will be judged \u2013 whether in a court of Law or trial by social media.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
